Pedraza Press Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 20, 2026
This policy explains what information Pedraza Press LLC collects through pedrazapress.com, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what control you have over it. It applies to account holders, students, and visitors to the site.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we store your name, email address, and account role. If you take continuing-education courses, you can set your licensing state (e.g. Texas or Louisiana), which we use to apply the correct state's CE rules to your certificates. Your password is managed entirely by our authentication provider (Supabase); we never see or store it ourselves.
Purchase records. When you buy a course, we store the product, the amount charged, the date, and identifiers from our payment processor (Stripe) that let us look up the transaction. We do not store your card number. Stripe handles your payment details directly; see Section 5.
Course activity. As you work through a course, we record which lessons and modules you've opened and completed, so your progress carries across sessions and devices.
Quiz, exam, and practice-problem answers. When you submit a module quiz, a practice exam, or an analytical problem, we store your actual answers along with your score. This is what lets you review your work, what our Repeat Access Guarantee checks against, and what CE certificate issuance relies on.
Free-question activity. Free daily practice questions are graded without creating a saved record of the question or your answer. We keep a simple daily count so the free allowance can reset each day.
Diagnostic results. If you take a diagnostic benchmark, we store your answers and the resulting readiness readout the same way we store exam attempts.
CE certificates. If you earn a continuing-education certificate, we store your name, the course, completion date, and PDH hours on the certificate record. Anyone who has your certificate number can look up your name, course, and completion status on our public certificate verification page. See Section 9 for what happens to this record if you delete your account and how to request a correction or removal.
Tutor on Demand conversations. If you use the Tutor feature, we store your questions and the tutor's responses in your account's chat history. See Section 6 for how this data is processed.
Mobile device information. If you use the Pedraza Press mobile app, we store a push-notification token, your device platform (iOS or Android), app version, and when the app was last active on that device, so we can send you notifications and support the app.
Communications. If you email us, we have that correspondence. Transactional emails we send you (purchase receipts, password resets, account notices) are logged by type and recipient, not by their full content, so we can tell what's already been sent and avoid sending it twice.
What we do not do. We do not run advertising or behavioral-tracking scripts, and our application does not collect or store your IP address as part of your account or learner records. The infrastructure that hosts the site (Section 5) may process standard technical request information — like IP address, browser and device information, and request logs — as an ordinary part of running a web service: security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing outages. We do not use that infrastructure-level information to track or build a profile of you.
2. Why We Use It
We use this information to operate the courses you've purchased, track your progress and eligibility for guarantees and certificates, process payments, respond to support requests, and meet our own recordkeeping obligations (accounting, and CE completion records where applicable).
3. Assessment and Learning Records
Your quiz, exam, and analytical-problem answers are graded and stored exactly as submitted. This record is what backs your Repeat Access Guarantee claim, your CE certificate, and your own ability to review past work. Editing or updating course content does not rewrite what an earlier attempt of yours means; historical records stay tied to the version of the content you actually saw.
4. Payments
Stripe processes your payment. We never see or store your full card number. We store the resulting transaction identifiers, the amount charged, and the product purchased, so we can confirm your purchase, issue refunds, and keep accounting records.
5. Service Providers
We share information with these providers as needed to operate the services they provide to us:
- Stripe — payment processing. Handles your card details directly.
- Supabase — our database and account authentication.
- Resend — delivery of transactional email (receipts, password resets, account notices).
- Anthropic and OpenAI — process your questions if you use Tutor on Demand. See Section 6.
- RevenueCat — our subscription-management provider; relays Apple, Google, and Stripe subscription-lifecycle notifications to us if you have a mobile-app subscription. See Section 9.
- Vercel — hosts the website. We do not use Vercel's analytics or tracking products.
6. AI-Assisted Features
Pedraza Press's Tutor on Demand feature uses AI providers to answer your questions about course material. If you use it:
- Your question, recent conversation history, and relevant excerpts of course material are sent to Anthropic to generate the tutor's response.
- A version of your question is also sent to OpenAI to find the course passages most relevant to it.
Your question and the tutor's answer are stored in your account's chat history for as long as your account exists (see Section 9). We do not use your Tutor conversations to train AI models ourselves. As of this policy's effective date, Anthropic's and OpenAI's published API terms state that data submitted through their commercial API services is not used to train their models by default, unless a customer affirmatively opts in to data sharing or model training. Their terms still permit them to process and temporarily retain API data for service operation, safety and abuse monitoring, and legal compliance, under their own stated exceptions. Provider policies can change; their own terms are the current, authoritative statement.
This disclosure describes what data moves where when Tutor is used. It is not a claim about the accuracy of any specific answer the tutor gives.
7. Cookies and Sessions
Signing in sets a session cookie through our authentication provider, Supabase, so you stay logged in between visits. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run any analytics service on the site. Separately, our hosting provider may log standard technical request information (like IP address and browser information) as part of normal web server operation and security monitoring — this is not analytics or tracking, and it doesn't feed into anything we use to profile you.
8. Communications
We send transactional emails tied to your account and purchases: receipts, password resets, access-expiration notices, and similar account activity. These aren't marketing email, and there's currently no separate marketing list to opt out of.
9. Data Retention
We keep your account information and activity records for as long as your account is active. We do not currently run an automatic deletion schedule for course activity, quiz and exam answers, or Tutor conversation history beyond what happens when you delete your account (Section 10).
Purchase, certificate, subscription-notification, and email-delivery records are the exception: for accounting, continuing-education recordkeeping, fraud prevention, and to avoid re-sending the same notice, we keep these even after an account is deleted. Deleting your account removes the link between these records and your account, not the records themselves:
- Purchase records keep the transaction details but drop the connection to your account.
- Certificate records keep your name. Your name, course, and completion date remain on any certificate you've earned, and remain visible on our public certificate verification page, even after you delete your account. If you want a certificate record removed, email us; we will review applicable continuing-education and recordkeeping requirements before acting on the request.
- Store-subscription notification records. If you've ever had an Apple, Google, or Stripe subscription through us, we keep a technical record of each subscription-status notification we received from our subscription-management provider, so we don't process the same notification twice and so we can investigate billing issues. Deleting your account removes the link between this record and your account, but the retained record is the notification largely as originally received, and may still contain identifiers from it, such as your account identifier or a store transaction ID, that are not separately redacted.
- Transactional email logs keep the recipient address and message type (e.g., "receipt sent") but drop the connection to your account.
10. Your Choices
Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account from within the app. This removes your profile, entitlements (what courses you had access to), course progress, quiz and exam history, flashcard scheduling data, CE progress, your subscription record (plan and status), Tutor conversations, and device records. Deletion is permanent; a new account starts with no access to courses you previously bought.
As described in Section 9, your purchase, certificate, subscription-notification, and email-log records are kept, with the link to your account removed rather than the record itself deleted. This is a separate, technical notification ledger from the subscription record described above, which is deleted. Your name specifically remains on any certificate you earned and stays visible on our public certificate verification page.
Request a copy of your data. We don't yet have a self-service export tool. Email us at jose@pedrazapress.com to request a copy of the personal information associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Correct your information. You can update your name and licensing state from your account settings. Your email address is tied to your login and isn't self-service editable there; email us if it needs to change.
11. Security
We rely on our providers' security practices: Supabase for authentication and database access controls, Stripe for payment data, and standard access controls limiting who at Pedraza Press can see student data. No system is completely secure. We use reasonable measures appropriate to the service to protect your information. If a security incident occurs, we will investigate it and provide notice as required by applicable law.
12. Children
Pedraza Press courses are built for working surveying professionals and licensure candidates. The service is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us at jose@pedrazapress.com; we will investigate and take appropriate action.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our practices change. The version in effect at the time you're using the site is the one that applies. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
